Ok, i admit defeat… i am a “country bumpkin”. I went up to london by train the other day, and rode the tube. I haven`t been on the underground for ages, and found it both terrifying and exciting. And something about the pre-war architecture and grubbiness of the whole place… i felt that at any moment the whole place could collapse, or a siren would go off and we would have to run into the tunnels….or a swarm of giant rats would pour out of the tunnels… or we would have to evacuate the station… terrorists could attack… who knows? mind that back-pack, sitting on it`s own! and the white tiled coridoors remind of “american werewolf in london” - one of my favourite movies when i was younger…
as a teenager, i would travel the tube without a second thought… and for all those commuters, it is just a tedious way of getting from A to B…. but now i guess i have been living the life of a hermit for so long, that just the act itself, of riding in those metal sausages of death is an exhilarating event….
still too many blimmin` people, tho`!
